In a grand culmination of a year filled with dedication, service, and excellence, Rashidat Olamidayo Ajakaye was feted at her passing out parade from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ogun State. The ceremony was a testament to Ajakaye’s impactful journey, marked by outstanding achievements that earned her not one, but TWO prestigious awards.
DAPCA, in coalition with DRER, organized a special sent forth party for Ajakaye. It was a fitting tribute to a corper who left an indelient mark on the institution. Ajakaye Rashidat Olamidayo won TWO awards from two different lecturers: Ajakaye received the first award which was an Award of Recognition from Mr. Stephen Ayodele, a lecturer in the College of Humanities, Department of Creative Arts. This award was in appreciation of her diligence, exceptional sociability, and selfless service demonstrated throughout her NYSC tenure at TASFUED. The second award was an Award of Academic and Creative Impact presented by Professor Tope Omotayo, recognizing her exceptional academic excellence, innovative creative contributions, and inspiring impact within and beyond the university community.
Her office at TASFUED didn’t just bid her farewell—they threw her a memorable sent forth party! Soft drinks flowed, commentaries and praises echoed through the halls, and staff members showered Ajakaye with gift items. Everyone talked about the fantastic job she did during her youth service. At the sent forth party, staff members didn’t just celebrate Ajakaye’s past achievements—they also offered valuable advice on her path forward in life after NYSC. It was a touching moment as colleagues shared insights to help shape her future endeavors. Staff members raved about an Acrostic Poem written by Ajakaye. They were unanimous in their praise for her hard work and declared that because of her contributions, she would never be forgotten in TASFUED.
Students of TASFUED who attended the sent forth party were super excited to have Ajakaye among them. They praised her for a job well done and openly said they would miss her big time. In a fun highlight of the event, they sang for her, crowning her as the “Corper of the Year.”
In a gesture of goodwill and commitment to knowledge sharing, Ajakaye donated ten copies of books to the Gbenga Daniel Library at TASFUED on October 20, 2025. The university librarian, LBRN. Sodipe, O.M. FAIMP, CLN, sent her a heartfelt letter of appreciation on November 11, 2025. According to the librarian’s letter, Ajakaye’s book donation enhances access to relevant information for teaching, learning, and research. It also reflects her responsibility, community development spirit, and commitment to advancing knowledge—values that align with NYSC ideals.
The Education CDS group at TASFUED celebrated Ajakaye in style, gifting her and appreciating her tremendous efforts during her service. Ajakaye served as Financial Secretary for three batches, working alongside three different presidents—a testament to her accountability, trustworthiness, and transparency.
In essence, throughout her NYSC at TASFUED in Ogun State, Ajakaye served as Financial Secretary for a long time due to her accountability and trustworthiness. She was found diligent in her duties. She donated books to the university library. She also wrote an impactful Acrostic Poem that earned praise. The letter of appreciation from the librarian and celebrations from DAPCA, DRER, and the Education CDS group underscored how much Ajakaye’s contributions were valued at TASFUED. As Ajakaye moves on post-NYSC, her legacy at TASFUED remains vibrant. From book donations to impactful service, and from awards to a memorable sent forth party, Rashidat Olamidayo Ajakaye has surely left a mark that will be remembered for long.
