Family sources has confirmed the death of a former deputy President of the Senate, Ibrahim Mantu at age 74 year. The foremost politician was said to have died at a private hospital in Abuja at midnight after a few days of admission.

The Plateau-born legislator was reportedly ill (conditions suspected to be covid-19) and was hospitalized after his health condition worsened. He would be buried according to Moslem rites on Tuesday afternoon by 2pm after funeral prayers are said at Apo legislative mosque, Abuja.

Until his death, he was a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP.
