The former de facto Vice President of Nigeria, General Oladipo Diya passed away in the wee hours of today, March 26th 2023.

The erstwhile Chief of the General Staff, who was Second in Command to the late dictator, General Sani Abacha was said to have died in the wee hours of this Sunday.

It could be recalled that the General who was one of the top military officers tried and sentenced to death for a phantom coup in 1995 fell out with Abacha when the government began to get draconian with anti people policies.

General Oladipupo Diya is dead!

On behalf of the entire Diya  family home and abroad; We announce the passing on to Glory of our dear Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Lt-General Donaldson Oladipo Oyeyinka Diya (Rtd) GCON, LLB, BL, PSC, FSS, mni. 

Our dear Daddy passed onto glory in the early hours of 26th March 2023.
