It has been reported that the Federal Government has banned till further notice the activities of microblogging site, Twitter in the country. This decision was posted on the official Twitter handle of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Information by its spokesperson,  Mr. Segun Adeyemi.

Recall that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had in a press conference decried the activities of Twitter in the country where he (Alhaji Lai Mohammed) repeatedly cited the wrongful use of the social media against the peaceful co-existence of the country.

 The statement credited to the Office of the Honorable Minister of Culture and Information also made known the intention of the Federal Government to begin immediate licensing of all OTT and social media activities in the country.
