The Edo North Caucus of the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN), Edo State chapter, has endorsed Dandy Oserei as its preferred candidate for the Edo State House of Assembly seat representing Owan East Constituency.
The endorsement was announced in a statement signed by the caucus leader, Maka Achogbor, and made available to journalists on Wednesday.
According to the group, the decision followed extensive consultations across Edo State, particularly within Edo North, where youth stakeholders reportedly reached a consensus on Oserei’s candidature.
Oserei, a former Secretary of the Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission, was described by the group as a competent administrator whose public service record influenced the endorsement.
The caucus praised his tenure at the commission, noting that he demonstrated transparency, accountability, and improved internally generated revenue through the regulation of lottery and gaming activities in the state.
It said the endorsement reflects a collective position of youth stakeholders committed to promoting youth inclusion in governance and strengthening political participation in the state.
Speaking at the meeting, the Edo North NYAN leader, Maka Achogbor, described the endorsement as a unanimous and progressive decision, adding that Oserei’s record of service stood him out among aspirants.
He said the caucus’ support was based on broad consultations and a shared desire to promote leadership that prioritises youth development, inclusiveness, and sustainable progress.
The group further urged youths in Owan East Constituency to support credible leadership and remain actively engaged in the political process, saying the move was aimed at strengthening youth participation in governance across Edo State.
