The legendary architect and one of the very few Nigerian graduate of Architecture, Fola Alade has passed on to the greater beyond.  He died at the ripe age of 87.

His repertoire of masterful designs is seen in nearly every part of the country prominent among which is the 1004 Housing Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos, defunct Federal Secretariat building, Ikoyi, Lagos and the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, the Remembrance Arcade, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, Satellite Town, Lagos, Nigerian Air Force Base, Ikeja and the Nigerian Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies building, Kuru, near Jos, National Judicial institute, Abuja and designing of the Nigerian Embassy edifices in not less than 11 countries of the world.

Fola Alade graduated from the Nigerian College of Arts & Sciences and Technology, Zaria (now Ahmadu Bello University) in the year 1961. Four years after his graduated, he proceeded for a Post-Graduate course at the Architectural Association School of Tropical Studies, London in 1965.

He was a prominent member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and Architects’ Registration Council of the United Kingdom. The first Registrar of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria and served as the General Secretary of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.

This illustrious son of Aramoko in Ekiti was Permanent Secretary from 1976-1979. He established Fola Alade Associates in 1979.
