Permit me to observe a minute of silence to a man of great impact who bade the world goodbye some hours ago. This ritual we had just performed is a rite of passage at most funeral ceremonies or at special occcassion when at a moment the name of deceased is mentioned, it is required that those in attendance pay their respect by keeping still – no words (sometimes in a standing position) till the short requiem is observed.

Indeed, Dayo Kujore is worth the celebration of life. Although, he is no longer present in the flesh but a long roll of achievement as an entertainer of repute bears witness to the fact that he lived life and accomplished greatly, if not better than some of his contemporaries.

So, you would understand when the announcement of his death at age 64 sent tremor of pains down the spines of lovers of Juju music. He was a phenomenon in his own right.

Shining like the star that he was since the days of Iconic Ebenezer Obey and Sunny Ade, the young Dayo started playing the Guitar instrument at age 10. Such was his adept skills at the instrument that he was named, Wonder boy (a name that stuck to him till his very last minute).

According to sources, Dayo Kujore heaved his last breathe at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where he was receiving treatment for a yet to be disclosed treatment.
