Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and global hip-hop artiste French Montana have been announced as headline performers for the opening concert of the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Rabat, Morocco.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) made the announcement in a statement on Thursday, confirming that the two international music stars will lead a star-studded line-up for the pre-tournament concert.
Other artistes scheduled to perform include Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, French-Moroccan hitmaker Lartiste, and rising artiste Says’z, in a showcase that blends African and global music influences.
According to CAF, the opening concert will hold on Saturday, a day before the tournament officially begins, and is expected to set the tone for the month-long football festival in Morocco.
“The Confederation of African Football has officially announced the artists set to headline the opening concert of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 in Rabat,” the statement said.
“Global hip-hop star French Montana and Nigerian Afrobeats icon Davido will lead an exciting international line-up, joined by Moroccan sensation Douaa Lahyaoui, French-Moroccan hitmaker Lartiste, and rising artist Says’z. The diverse selection reflects AFCON’s celebration of African culture, music, and global influence.”
CAF added that fans in Rabat and across the continent are eagerly anticipating a night where football and music converge on a grand stage.
The 2025 AFCON tournament will feature Africa’s top national teams, with organisers promising a vibrant blend of football, entertainment and cultural celebration throughout the competition.
