Dangote Industries Limited has cautioned the public over increasing cases of impersonation and fraudulent activities by individuals falsely claiming to represent the company, its executives and members of the Dangote family.
In a statement released on Tuesday via its official X account, the company said it had become aware of rising incidents involving fake investment offers, business proposals, charity solicitations and employment promises designed to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
The company stated that neither Dangote Industries Limited nor its Group President, Aliko Dangote, or any executive initiates contact with individuals through social media platforms for financial transactions or personal requests.
It specifically named Fatima Aliko Dangote, Mariya Aliko Dangote and Halima Aliko Dangote, clarifying that they do not solicit funds, investments, contracts or personal information via WhatsApp, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or any other social media channel. The company added that they do not operate Facebook or TikTok accounts.
Dangote Industries stressed that all official communications are issued strictly through verified corporate channels and recognised media platforms. It urged members of the public to disregard unsolicited messages, calls or social media accounts claiming affiliation with the company or its executives.
The firm also disclosed that it is working with security and law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute those involved in the fraudulent schemes.
Dangote Industries reiterated its commitment to protecting its brand integrity and the safety of Nigerians, advising anyone who receives suspicious communications to report them to the appropriate authorities immediately.
