A Federal High Court in Kaduna has fixed April 14, 2026, to deliver its ruling on the bail application filed by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The decision followed arguments presented by both the defence and prosecution teams during proceedings on Wednesday.
Lead counsel to the defence, Adewole Iyamu, expressed optimism about the outcome, stating that all necessary arguments had been fully presented before the court.
He confirmed that the bail application was formally moved and duly contested by the prosecution during the hearing.
Iyamu also disclosed that El-Rufai is scheduled to appear before a Federal High Court in Abuja on April 10 in a separate case instituted by the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to him, the defence team is fully prepared for the Abuja proceedings, noting that all required legal documents have already been filed.
The ruling on April 14 is expected to determine whether the former governor will be granted bail or remain in custody as his trial continues.
