The gospel music sector has been thrown in deep mourning with the sudden death this morning of one of its icons, Sammy Okposo of Welu Welu fame.

The Lagosian gathered that Sammy slumped early Friday (today) and efforts to bring him round were abortive.

This development is a tragic loss to the Nigerian gospel music scene considering Okposo’s immense contributions to it.

Recall that Okposo recently announced that he was stepping aside from active performance due to an infidelity scandal that had him apologising to his wife.
