Akwa Ibom State is in mourning following the passing of its First Lady, Pastor Patience Umo Eno. The tragic news was confirmed in the early hours of Friday by the State Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, through a press statement.
According to the statement, titled “Unexpected Sunset”, the First Lady passed away on September 26, 2024, at a hospital, surrounded by her family. The commissioner expressed deep sorrow, describing her death as a significant loss to the state and the entire country.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness,” the statement read.
