Former Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has dismissed reports suggesting that he plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Badaru described the claims circulating on social media as false, unfounded and the product of political mischief. He said there was no truth to assertions that he was holding consultations or making moves to leave the ruling party.
The former minister reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, stressing that he remains a committed and dedicated member of the party, which he helped to found. According to him, his allegiance to the APC remains “absolute and unwavering.”
Badaru urged party members and the general public to disregard the rumours, insisting that he has no intention of defecting to any other political party. He added that the reports were speculative and misleading, and reiterated his continued support for the APC and its ideals.
