Renowned as Àwòrò, Aliu was pronounced dead at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital at Aro Ekiti. Members of a royal family in Àgbède, Edo State whose kinsman, Isa Ja Usman, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and some members of the party were recently attacked in Auchi, have accused the police of setting free the prime suspect of the attack.
