The national leadership of the City Boy Movement has appointed Bayelsa-based All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Barrister Osomkime Blankson, as the State Director of the organisation in Bayelsa State.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Saturday and is part of the Movement’s strategy to strengthen its grassroots structures and expand youth-focused programmes across the South-South region.
Barrister Blankson, who is also a traditional title holder, expressed gratitude to the national leadership for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to leverage the position to promote youth empowerment, leadership development and inclusive participation in Bayelsa State.
“I am honoured by this appointment and fully committed to building a strong, inclusive and purpose-driven City Boy Movement in Bayelsa State, in line with our national vision,” he said.
According to the letter conveying his appointment, Blankson will serve as the principal representative of the City Boy Movement in the state and will coordinate its activities in accordance with directives from the National Secretariat.
The statement noted that the City Boy Movement operates under the leadership of its Grand Patron, Mr Seyi Tinubu, and is focused on structured youth engagement, civic participation and leadership cultivation among young Nigerians.
Observers say the organisation has increasingly emerged as a platform for mentoring young people, promoting skills acquisition and encouraging active involvement in community development initiatives. With Blankson’s appointment, attention is expected to shift towards expanding programmes on entrepreneurship, capacity building and constructive social engagement among youths in Bayelsa State.
The City Boy Movement reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing future leaders and creating opportunities for young Nigerians to contribute meaningfully to national development through education, engagement and empowerment initiatives.
