Adunni Ace Strikers Do The Unimaginable at Agboyi-Ketu Chairman’s Unity Cup! Outshine Ward E By 12 Goal To 1!!
It is a rarity to have such humongous score-line as 12:1 in a single football match of 90 minutes! But such is the wonder that the ancient Agboyi Island experienced on Tuesday November 11, 2025 when residents of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and other spectators were treated to three spectacular football matches at the Oba Lamina Mini Stadium, Agboyi.
It was Match Day 2 of the Agboyi-Ketu Chairman’s Unity Cup and three matches were slated for the day. The opening match had been played on Monday with Ward G edging out Ward D by 2 goals to 1. On this second day of the tournament, the match between Ward A and Ward F saw Ward F beating ward A by 2 goals to 1. The second match of the day being Match 3 was another explosive and balanced match with Ward C getting a decent result over Ward B. The scoreline was 2 : 1 in favour of Ward C.
The match of the day ended up historical as the Chairman’s own sponsored football team; Adunni Ace Strikers did the unthinkable! The Ward E football team was by no means a pushover. But the Adunni Ace Strikers were not perturbed by the quality of their opponents! They came all out to make a bold statement and indeed they did!
Every move was purposeful towards the goal. And each time (or at least most of the time) they surged forward into their opponents’ final third, it was a goal! That was how the spectators and football enthusiasts that watched the match witnessed for the first time a goal margin of 12 goals to 1 goal! The Chairman Unity Cup has been a spectacular show of talents that is adding so much spice to the celebrations of Hon. Adetola Abubakar’s 100-Days in office.
The tournament progresses as the four winning teams go into the semi-finals to slug it out on Thursday November 13, 2025. The fixtures are as follows:
Semi Final 1: Thursday November 13, 2025 2:00 pm Ward G vs Ward F
Semi Final 2: Thursday November 13, 2025 4:00 pm Adunni Ace Strikers vs Ward C
