6th of October 2025, the ancient Agboyi Creek gets the biggest medical outreach she has yet experienced! It was the opening ceremony of a 2-Day free medical outreach in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA. The international humanitarian aid was brought to the people of Agboyi-Ketu by the Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps as facilitated and sponsored by Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; Chief of Staff to the President; Federal Republic of Nigeria and coordinated by the Lagos State Health District 2. The Chief host was of course the elegant Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA; Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar.
In a magnificent carnival-style outing, the grateful people of Agboyi trooped out in a very orderly manner to receive all the medical goodies brought their way by the medical team. The free healthcare services delivered on October 6 and 7 at Agboyi Ori-Omi and Ketu Primary Healthcare run into thousands of cases with world class medical professionals consulting, state of the art equipment and best quality medications dispensed!

The event was heralded by the arrival of various heavyweights in public service:
Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar and her deputy, Hon. Yomi Ganiyu were on ground to host the crew of medical volunteers to a warm welcome by the people of Agboyi-Ketu.
Hon. Desmond Olusola Elliot of the Lagos State House of Assembly represented the Chief of Staff to the President; Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State.

Her Royal Majesty, Ugoeze Shu Fang Chen Okorie; Director of the Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps.
The paramount ruler of Agboyi land; HRH Oba Abimbola Adekambi Oladega and other Royal Fathers present.
Hon. Lookman Oyewole; S. A. Finance to the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbass was on ground to represent the Speaker and the National Assembly.

Chief Imam of Agboyi and Reverend of first Church in Agboyi established since 1890.
Dr. Dayo Lajide; Permanent Secretary of Lagos Health District 2 with a contingent of staff and experts from her Health District.
Other Permanent Secretaries of Ministries and Parastatals in Lagos State and more VIPs than this report can exhaustively mention.

Dignitaries took their turns to deliver goodwill messages to grace the occasion.
Hon. Adetola Abubakar in her gratitude-laden speech thanked all that are involved in the delivery of this germane project and went on to endear the crowd with her oratory dexterity. She closed her speech with a succinct advice to all beneficiaries to begin a new phase of healthy living after the treatment they would receive at the medical outreach!

Another noteworthy speech was that of Her Royal Majesty, Ugoeze Shu Fang Chen Okorie, Nneoha 1 of Imeoha Nkerefi in Nkanu East LGA of Enugu State. Like a romantic fairytale, Mrs. Okorie is a Taiwanese married to a Nigerian gentleman from Enugu State. Her husband; His Royal Majesty, Igwe Luke Ogbuta Okorie, the Ezeanyanecheoha 1 of Imeoha Nkerefi became the king of his community and that makes the Taiwanese lady a Nigerian Queen! Lolo (Queen) Shu Fang Chen Okorie is the Director of Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps and she is always glad to help her “in-laws” with the services of her International NGO. Lagos State makes the 4th Nigerian State that TRMPC would bless with their humanitarian services. They have had previous spells in Cross Rivers, Enugu and Abia States. The organization has existed for 30 years and they have been visiting Nigeria to dispense free medical outreaches since 2017. The large entourage of various Medical Experts from Taiwan was happy to serve, commending the hospitality of Nigerians.

In a show of solidarity with her people, Hon. Abubakar left her seat at the high table and sat amongst the people of Agboyi Ori Omi to get her health checked. She got a clean bill of health, howbeit with a recommended pair of eyeglasses for her use.
Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the Medical Outreach train stormed Ketu Primary Health Centre on Akintan Street to attend to more citizens of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA at the second location. It was a bigger crowd that defiled the heavy rains of the day to benefit from the medical largesse of Hon. Gbajabiamila and the TRMPC. In her usual charismatic way, the Executive Chairman came around to check on her people as the free medical services got underway. Amidst cheers, songs and prayers of gratitude, Hon. Adetola Abubakar saw to it that everything went well with the mega medical outreach.

For every one of the thousands of Agboyi-Ketu people that trooped out for the free medical services, they would wish for the TRMPC volunteers to stay perpetually with them! One could feel the palpable love and gratitude flowing from the beneficiaries to the volunteers and vice versa…
