Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar; Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA means business! While beneficiary citizens are yet to recover from the euphoria of her Back-to-School Boost largesse (executed on Thursday, September 18), it was the turn of the workforce on the following Monday to enjoy in a very quick succession, impacts of the pragmatism of their hardworking Executive Chairman!

Monday September 22, 2025, the staff of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Authority had a boost to their career as they gathered for a professional training session. They have never had it so good! It was a 1-day career training workshop tagged “Building an Ethical, Motivated And Value-Driven Council”.
In less than two months into her administration, the Executive Chairman and her team have put the right foot forward by planning, funding and executing a training session which theme and delivery was intended to give the workforce a splendid start into the current administration. The topics of the training were suitable for a great start and the delivery was done by renown and seasoned facilitators.

The Head of Human Resources and the Council Manager took their turns to give their welcome addresses. In her short but concise speech to declare the workshop open, Hon. Adetola Abubakar enchanted her workforce with her sincere words of motivation and hope. One striking remark she made was the closing one: “In the course of your work with us, I will personally take note when I see the manifestations of this training in your service delivery! I want you all to remember this always…” she said.
The Facilitators then took to the stage and did justice to their topics. Mr. Tunji Yussuf took them up on the topics “Motivation for Excellence in Public Service” and “Workplace Etiquettes and Professional Conduct”, while Mr. Gbenga Onipede handled “Work Ethics and Integrity in Local Government Service” and “Interpersonal Skills for Teamwork and Service Delivery”. As both men dished out their topics, the LCDA staff thoroughly enjoyed their sessions with assurances that the principles and systems they have learnt will remain entrenched in the core of their everyday duties.

Another gratifying aspect of this training session was that every member of staff in attendance was mandated to document their feedbacks / experiences from the training and submit to the Head of HR. Salient issues extracted from this exercise will be addressed by management. The result of this resolution as inspired by the facilitators was that a communiqué was discussed and prepared by the trainees themselves to be submitted to management. This communiqué will be highlighting 15 prayers of the staff to management. The Chairman and her management team will reciprocate by streamlining the requests and execute the feasible and viable items on the staffers’ wish list.

At the end of the training sessions, the workforce of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA were happy and motivated to give their best with high professional standards. Management is enthusiastic that this new zest injected into the rank-and-file of the workforce will yield better job performance leading to optimized productivity. It’s a guaranteed win-win situation and Agboyi-Ketu is on a roller-coaster of success and progress…
