A woman, Fijabi Omotayo, has cried out over the disappearance of her son, Oladipupo Siwajuola, a student of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, who has not been seen or heard from since she dropped him off at the campus on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
In an emotional Facebook live video, Omotayo said her son’s sudden disappearance has left her sleepless and desperate for answers. She appealed to the public and security agencies to help locate him, saying that efforts to get clarity from the school have so far yielded no concrete information.
“I dropped him off myself on Sunday evening, but for the past three days, I have not been able to sleep,” she said. “I went to the school, and they told me that students sometimes hide within the premises. Babcock University should please help find my son.”
In an earlier post, Omotayo accused the institution of withholding information and mentioned two students, identified as Lampard and Tobi, whom she claimed were the last to see her son.
“Babcock University, Ilisan, could you please inform me about the whereabouts of my son, Oladipupo Siwajuola? My family and I should not suffer because of your lack of accountability,” she wrote.
Following the outcry, the Special Assistant to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun on New Media, Emmanuel Ojo, said he had contacted the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu. The commissioner, in turn, reached out to the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, who reportedly said he was not aware of the incident until it surfaced online.
Efforts to get an official response from the university were ongoing at the time of filing this report.
