Ogun State, April 29, 2025 — A socio-political group, Advocates for Ogun Development and Innovations, has called on the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, to enter the race for the Ogun State governorship.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the group’s Public Relations Officer, Majeed Adelakun, the movement described Edun as “uniquely qualified” to lead the state, citing his professional background and commitment to community development.
“Beyond his sterling professional pedigree, Mr. Edun is known for his deep commitment to empowering communities, creating sustainable opportunities, and building prosperity that lasts,” the statement read. “His leadership style is one that focuses on real change, and we believe his vision can elevate Ogun State to new heights.”
The group urged Edun to “answer the call of history” and declare his intention to contest in the forthcoming governorship election, adding that his experience and economic expertise are urgently needed to drive the state’s development agenda.
As of the time of filing this report, Mr. Edun has not made any public comments regarding the appeal.
