The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, has presented brand-new Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to members of the council’s legislative arm as part of efforts to improve grassroots governance and service delivery.
The vehicles were handed over at the council secretariat, with the chairman describing the initiative as a response to the mobility challenges faced by councillors in carrying out their legislative and oversight responsibilities.
Adebanjo said the official vehicles would enable councillors to engage more effectively with residents, maintain regular contact with their wards, and respond promptly to community concerns while discharging their constitutional duties.
Speaking on behalf of the legislators, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Francis Nkwo, expressed appreciation to the chairman, describing the gesture as a significant investment in the council’s legislative arm.
According to Nkwo, the SUVs will facilitate visits to communities, improve project monitoring, and strengthen the councillors’ oversight functions across the LCDA.
He also commended the cordial working relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the council, noting that the collaboration has fostered inclusiveness and supported the pursuit of sustainable development within Onigbongbo LCDA.
