A witness to the recent abduction of pupils in Ahoro-Esiele community, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has recounted how the attackers moved the children after invading the school on May 16, 2026.
Speaking during an interview with News Central TV, Kehinde Akintola described the operation carried out by the bandits, saying they arrived in the community on motorcycles before launching the attack on the school.
According to her, the assailants not only came with their motorcycles but also forcefully took motorcycles belonging to residents, which were later used to transport some of the abducted pupils.
Akintola further disclosed that the attackers seized the school principal’s vehicle and used it to convey several of the children. She alleged that some of the victims were loaded into the trunk of the vehicle before being driven away from the community.
She explained that upon reaching a riverbank, the bandits reportedly removed the children from the vehicle and subsequently set the principal’s car ablaze in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence and frustrate tracking efforts.
The witness said the attackers acted swiftly during the operation, leaving residents shocked and helpless as the children were taken away.
The revelation provides further insight into the tactics employed by the kidnappers during the incident, which has continued to generate concern among residents and security stakeholders in Oyo State.
Authorities are continuing efforts to secure the safe return of the abducted pupils and bring the perpetrators to justice. :::
