Governor has applauded the efforts of the for its crucial support in ongoing security operations aimed at rescuing victims of recent abductions in parts of Oyo State.
The governor made the commendation during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Air Force led by , who represented the Chief of the Air Staff, .
Makinde said the visit offered him an opportunity to acknowledge the vital contributions of the Air Force in tackling security threats across the state, particularly in areas affected by recent kidnapping incidents.
According to the governor, aerial surveillance operations carried out by the Air Force have generated valuable intelligence that has significantly improved the effectiveness of ongoing rescue missions and security deployments. He noted that the information gathered from the air has enhanced the understanding of conditions on the ground, enabling security agencies to respond more effectively.
The governor emphasized that collaboration between air and ground forces has strengthened security coordination and boosted efforts to combat criminal activities across the state.
Makinde also provided an update on the surveillance aircraft acquired by the Oyo State Government, revealing that the aircraft is currently stationed at an Air Force facility in Lagos awaiting final assembly before deployment.
He expressed confidence that the aircraft would soon become operational, adding that it would greatly improve intelligence gathering, surveillance, and rapid response capabilities in Oyo State.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to security, the governor pledged continued support for security agencies through strategic partnerships and the provision of modern tools necessary to safeguard lives and property throughout the state.
