Popular comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, widely known as Seyi Law, has expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a driving force behind Nigeria’s economic and political transformation.
Seyi Law made the remarks while speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention held at Eagle Square in Abuja, where he commended the administration’s performance across multiple sectors.
He said the President’s policies have yielded notable progress, pointing to improvements in foreign reserves, the removal of fuel subsidy, the unification of the foreign exchange market, and the introduction of the student loan scheme.
According to the comedian, the decision to remove fuel subsidy on the day of inauguration was a bold step in tackling systemic corruption and stabilising the economy.
He stated that Nigeria’s financial outlook has significantly improved, noting that foreign reserves have grown from about $1 billion to over $40 billion in net reserves, with gross reserves exceeding $50 billion.
Seyi Law also praised reforms in the foreign exchange market, saying the unification of official and parallel market rates has helped address long-standing distortions in the system.
On education, he highlighted the resolution of industrial disputes with university unions, describing it as one of the shortest strike periods in recent times. He added that the student loan scheme has benefited nearly one million students, with beneficiaries receiving monthly stipends.
He further noted the administration’s focus on vocational training, citing the establishment of tuition-free technical colleges across the country as a major incentive for skill development among young Nigerians.
In the area of infrastructure, the entertainer pointed to ongoing road projects linking major economic hubs, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Highway, and other rehabilitation works across different regions.
He maintained that the scale of infrastructure development reflects the government’s commitment to national growth and economic expansion.
Seyi Law concluded by reaffirming his confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that he is willing to fully support the administration’s vision for Nigeria’s development.
