The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) C-130 Hercules aircraft involved in a recent incident in Burkina Faso has departed the country and is now en route to Portugal to continue its original mission for scheduled maintenance.
Credible reports confirmed that the aircraft resumed its ferry flight on the same day it was released, following high-level diplomatic engagements between the governments of Nigeria and Burkina Faso.
As part of the resolution of the impasse, both the aircraft and the 11 Nigerian military personnel onboard were released by the Burkinabe authorities.
The development marks the full resolution of the incident, allowing the Nigerian Air Force aircraft to proceed with its planned maintenance schedule in Portugal.
