The all-inclusive Government of Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar is at it again! This time, it is a forward-looking move to involve the people of Agboyi-Ketu in the budget appropriation of 2026!
November 19, 2025; stakeholders and representatives of the various sectors of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA gathered at the MicMary Events Hall to discuss the 2026 budget. In Hon. Adetola Abubakar’s government, budget considerations and planning do not start and end with a “closed committee”, she gathers all stakeholders for robust propositions and discussions on the 2026 budget of the LCDA. In a nutshell, what are the projects and programmes that the people of Agboyi-Ketu would like to be funded and executed in 2026?!
The “Budget of A New Dawn” was the crux of the matter that brought all the stakeholders of Agboyi-Ketu out for robust deliberations. The 500-seater MicMary Event Hall was packed full to its capacity; each participant having a deep sense of belonging in the affairs of the LCDA. In attendance were Council Administrators, Council Legislators of the 7 Wards, Traditional Rulers, Women Groups, Youth Groups, Community Leaders, Community Development Groups, Religious Leaders, Party Leaders and Members of the APC, Political Influencers and Market Women. Everyone that represented every interest was there! Inclusivity is deeply entrenched in the local governance of Agboyi-Ketu. You could feel the palpable pleasure and satisfaction that fills the hall, every person under that roof having a euphoria of leadership and influence, ready to unleash their creativity, intellect and skills!
In her opening speech, the Chairman paid tribute to the past Chairmen of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and stated that this 2026 Budget of A New Dawn is indeed the material needed to build sustainable edifices upon the solid foundation handed down by her predecessors. So, she urges all participants in the Budget Stakeholders Forum to bring forward their best ideas on how to make Agboyi-Ketu the very best amongst all grassroot Governments!
After the general stakeholders’ meeting where the Chairman addressed her constituents on budget considerations and preparation, the people broke into groups per their various wards and departments to brainstorm and come up with suggestions of budget items for the consideration of the Chairman. The next day, November 19, 2025, Hon. Adetola Abubakar was seen paying a solidarity visit to the Budget Stakeholders meeting of Ward A. She addressed them briefly and urged them to submit their best possible communique on the projects and programmes, which they would suggest as the direst needs of the people of their Ward. And same goes for the various Wards.
Right from the planning stage, Agboyi-Ketu’s “Budget of A New Dawn” is starting on the right foot! Every voice will be heard. The best ideas will be collated. 2026 will herald great tidings. “Happy New Year” will indeed be happy for the people of Agboyi-Ketu in 2026 and of course every day thereof…
