In a strategic move to enhance digital inclusion within the council, the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, today received Mr. Bola Onifade, Regional Head, Public Sector Sales Department, Globacom Limited Nigeria, at the council secretariat.
The purpose of the visit was to forge a partnership aimed at providing cost-effective and telecom-grade-quality internet services in Onigbongbo.
This initiative is expected to serve the council’s operational needs and also support community-driven projects requiring bulk data, such as the co-creation hub and other youth-oriented digital programs.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Adebanjo described the collaboration as a timely intervention that aligns with his administration’s agenda of innovation, empowerment, and investment. He emphasized that access to affordable and reliable internet is no longer a luxury but a necessity for governance, education, entrepreneurship, and community development.
Mr. Onifade assured the Chairman of Globacom’s readiness to work closely with Onigbongbo LCDA and noted that the partnership will not only reduce the cost of data but also strengthen service delivery. He also believed that it will provide opportunities for digital innovation within the local government area
