Council boss promises Traders in Festac Town better relocation.
Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority gave a nod to the creative and pragmatic solution the Executive Chairman of the Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Prince Lanre Sanusi, is according Festac Town and other areas on environmental rejuvenation which the council boss has continued to deliver since his assumption of office as the council chairman in July, 2025.
Hon.Ojo made his expression known to all Festac stakeholders, security agencies, traditional rulers and Festac Town Residents Association in Festac Town during the official commissioning of the first gate in the Festac Town, held today.
Recall that Festac has the three major entrances into the Federal Housing Estate which comprises the first,second ( Agboju) and third ( Alakija) gates.
The spirit of collaboration and the strong tie, lying between the Federal Housing Authority and the Local Government under the leadership of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tunubu, has become an impressive advantage for the people of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, especially the residents of the Festac Town on the bi – lateral projects execution that the two representatives of government have embarked upon in the last few months.
On the part of the local government, Prince Lanre Sanusi has turned the environmental face of the local government around coupled with the light up of the second avenue, road palliative carried out on the Alakija part of the second avenue, preparation of the Festac traders for relocation consideration to a new market place, clearing of the drainage and approval of the reconstruction of some roads in Festac Town which include but not limited to the re- habilitation of 52 road, 5th Avenue and 51 road in Festac Town, completion of the re- habilitation of 23 road in Festac Town, rehabilitation and electrification of Agboju market road and Agboju express road and re – construction of the 4th avenue road.
Accompanying the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Housing Authority to the expanse of land at the 6th avenue area linking to the Ijedodo area, a location connecting Amuwo Odofin Local Government to Alimosho Local Government and the Abule Ado area of the Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Prince Lanre Sanusi gave the assurance that the Federal Housing Authority under the leadership of Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, meant well for the residents of the local government in terms of infrastructural development and road connectivity.
Sanusi encouraged all affected traders in Festac Town consequent upon the fall out of the environmental cleansing of the communities in Festac Town to be practically ready for a new consideration of the market relocation to a better place.
