The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has begun aerial display rehearsals in Abuja and Lagos in preparation for its 61st anniversary celebration, scheduled to hold on May 23, 2025.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said the rehearsals are part of activities lined up for the celebration’s grand finale and are aimed at showcasing the service’s professionalism and operational readiness.
He urged residents in both cities not to panic at the sight or sound of low-flying aircraft and complex aerial manoeuvres, assuring the public that all exercises are being conducted under strict safety protocols.
“The aerial displays are meant to add colour to the celebration and demonstrate the capabilities of the Nigerian Air Force,” the statement added.
