The Kogi State Judicial Service Commission has approved the compulsory retirement of a judge, Alemeru Adekunle Bamidele of the Area Court, over allegations of misconduct.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the Commission, Dr. Tanko Muhammed, the JSC also suspended Magistrate Tanimu U. Muhammed from judicial duties for a period of two years. In addition to the suspension, a formal warning letter was issued to the magistrate.
The disciplinary actions were among several decisions reached during the commission’s 136th meeting held in Lokoja.
Meanwhile, the commission cleared four other judicial officers of various allegations brought against them. Those acquitted include Magistrate Abdul Musa Mopah, Mr. Yunusa Medugu, Deborah O. Ebiloma Esq., and Anuhi Safiya Oiza.
