The Aliko Dangote Foundation has distributed 35,000 bags of rice to families across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, as part of its annual National Food Intervention Project aimed at reaching over one million vulnerable Nigerians.
Each 10-kilogram bag of rice will be allocated in equal measure, with 1,522 bags designated for each local government area.
Speaking at the official flag-off of the distribution on Thursday in Kaduna, Governor Uba Sani commended the Foundation for its continued efforts in combating hunger and poverty. Represented by his Chief of Staff, Sani Liman Kila, the governor said the intervention aligns with his administration’s social investment priorities.
“The Aliko Dangote Foundation’s social protection initiatives align closely with our government’s focus on health, education, and economic support for the poor and vulnerable,” he said.
Governor Sani highlighted ongoing efforts by the state government to improve the well-being of residents through inclusive economic growth, financial literacy, humanitarian assistance for displaced persons, and enhanced security.
