The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast predicting a mix of haziness and thunderstorms across various parts of the country from Tuesday through Thursday.
According to the agency’s weather outlook released on Monday in Abuja, slight dust haze is expected to affect parts of Katsina and Kano States on Tuesday. Thunderstorms are also anticipated later in the day over parts of Taraba and Adamawa States.
The North Central region is expected to experience sunny skies with patches of clouds, with possible early morning thunderstorms in Nasarawa. In the afternoon and evening hours, thunderstorms are likely in Kogi, Kwara, Benue, and the Federal Capital Territory.
Over the southern region, NiMet forecasts cloudy skies and intermittent sunshine during the morning, with isolated thunderstorms in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Rivers, and Bayelsa States. More widespread thunderstorms are expected later in the day in states including Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Edo, Abia, Imo, Lagos, Delta, and others.
For Wednesday, the agency predicts cloudy skies and sunny spells in the northern parts, with thunderstorms expected in Taraba and Adamawa by afternoon or evening. Similar weather conditions are forecast for North Central states such as the FCT, Plateau, Benue, Kogi, Niger, and Nasarawa.
In the South, morning thunderstorms are likely in Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers States, while the afternoon and evening periods may bring storms to Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Lagos, and Delta States, among others.
