The search for Oladipupo Siwajuola, a student of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, ended in relief as his mother, Fijabi Oyindamola Omotayo, confirmed on Saturday that he had been found.
Omotayo, who had taken to social media earlier in the day to raise alarm over her son’s disappearance, announced his safe return in a Facebook post simply stating, “My son has been found.”
Her appeal had sparked widespread concern and prompted responses from members of the public and government officials.
Confirming the development to PUNCH on Sunday, the university’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Dr Joshua Suleiman, said the school was aware of the positive update. “Yes, we are aware,” he stated in a brief message.
Further details surrounding Siwajuola’s disappearance and recovery have yet to be disclosed.
