The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 58-year-old man who reportedly died after embarking on a 19-day fast. The incident occurred in the Alagbado area of Lagos on Monday morning around 6:00 am.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed the details to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday. According to Hundeyin, the deceased’s younger brother reported the incident to the Alagbado Police Division at approximately 7:00 pm on Monday.
The younger brother informed the police that his sibling had been participating in a 19-day dry fast when he passed away.
SP Hundeyin noted that no foul play is suspected in the death, and the family has requested permission to transport the body for burial.
