In a bid to advance Nigeria’s agricultural sector, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr. Idris Ajimobi as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development. This appointment is part of the President’s broader strategy to develop the country’s animal husbandry ecosystem, foster sustainable economic growth, create jobs, and mitigate conflicts between farmers and herders.
The appointment of Mr. Ajimobi comes on the heels of the recent inauguration of the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms and the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development. These initiatives underscore the administration’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s livestock sector.
President Tinubu has tasked Mr. Ajimobi with ensuring efficient coordination and communication on issues related to livestock development, highlighting the critical role this sector plays in the nation’s economy and social stability.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, announced the appointment, emphasizing the President’s vision for harnessing the full potential of Nigeria’s agricultural resources.
