It was recently announced by the Presidential Team against Covid-19 that six states of Federation were at high risk of contracting the spread of the third wave of the Delta Variant of covid-19. The affected states include: Lagos, Oyo, Rivers, Kaduna, Kano and Plateau.
Reacting to this, the Kano State government, for the first time, in a long while has cancelled the annual Eid-el-Kabir festivities in the state. This was known by the State’s Commissioner for Information, Mr Muhammad Garba.
Mr. Garba in a statement noted: “The development was part of measures by Nigeria like most African countries currently facing a threat of the COVID-19, after detecting the more transmissible Delta variant,â€.
