A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja in a judgement on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, acquitted the former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun of any shortcoming as regards her NYSC certificate.
The presiding judge stated that the Former Minister cannot be held by the statutory obligation of the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) and the NYSC discharge certificate in order to take up any ministerial role or vie for an elective office in the country.
According to the information gathered, the court held that Adeosun was 36 years old before graduating from London University in 1989. J
ustice Taiwo Oladipupo Taiwo, held that Adeosun was not guilty. The verdict was hinged on the fact that Mrs. Adeosun is a citizen of the United Kingdom.
