The Presidency has reacted to the scandalous news of burglaries by yet unknown robbers today at Aso Rock, the Presidential Villa precincts.
In a release, while virtually confirming the incident, Garba Shehu, One of the President’s spokesmen tried to mitigate the scary implications of such an incident on the psyche of the nation. Below is the text of the press release:
“The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt†to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.

The police, in a related development is searching for a suspected burglar who unsuccessfully attempted break into the house Maikano Abdullahi the Administration Office on Thursday, last week. Maikano lives on the same street with the Chief of Staff, close to the Villa.”
Meanwhile, the fact that even an attempt took place at all in a neighborhood expected to be highly secured has sent tongues wagging across the land.
