The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), has intensified efforts to improve environmental sanitation and maintain effective drainage systems across the council area.

Taiwo led the October Environmental Sanitation Exercise on Saturday, inspecting identified environmental black spots in Ailegun, Oke-Afa and Ifoshi wards as part of his administration’s commitment to a cleaner and healthier Ejigbo.
The exercise focused on clearing blocked drainage channels through sustained desilting operations and the immediate evacuation of accumulated waste and silt to prevent further obstruction and reduce the risk of flooding.

The chairman was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Abimbola Nicholas-Ike, councillors, cabinet members, management staff and other stakeholders.
During the inspection, Taiwo commended residents for their cooperation and urged them to sustain their support for the council’s environmental sanitation initiatives.
He also warned against indiscriminate waste disposal, stressing the need for residents to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean.

The council boss further directed environmental enforcement officers to maintain regular surveillance and ensure strict compliance with sanitation regulations.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to environmental sustainability, effective drainage maintenance and the promotion of a cleaner, safer and healthier Ejigbo.

The council said the ongoing sanitation drive would continue to address environmental challenges and improve the overall living conditions of residents.
