Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has commended the peaceful conduct of the local government elections in the state, while praising President Bola Tinubu’s electoral reforms.
Ododo made the remarks after casting his vote at Polling Unit 001, Upogoro-Odenku Ward, in Okene Local Government Area on Saturday.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, attributing improvements in the electoral process to enhanced technical and human capacity.
He said the election process had improved compared with previous years, noting that such progress was important for strengthening electoral administration.
Voting is taking place across 239 wards and 3,508 polling units in Kogi State, with turnout varying across different locations.
Ododo also pledged to collaborate with the Federal Government and newly elected local government officials to promote people oriented development and improve service delivery at the grassroots.
He said cooperation between the different levels of government would be essential to addressing local needs and ensuring that development initiatives benefit residents across the state.
