Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has announced the launch of the ‘Ask AA’ portal, a digital platform designed to enable Nigerians to ask questions about his political agenda, public service record and policy proposals ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The initiative was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council.
According to the statement, the free platform is scheduled to go live at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, allowing Nigerians to submit questions on the economy, security, technology, job creation and measures to make living conditions more affordable.
Atiku is expected to respond personally to questions submitted through the portal, with members of his media team also assisting in providing answers.
The campaign said the technology driven initiative was designed to bridge the communication gap between political leaders and citizens by providing direct access to information about Atiku’s positions, policy proposals and plans for the country.
Shaibu said the platform was intended to bring the former vice president closer to the electorate through a practical, problem solving approach to citizen engagement.
He added that the initiative reflected Atiku’s commitment to using modern technology to improve the efficiency, security and effectiveness of governance.
The campaign also plans to introduce a radio interface to the platform to enable people in communities without reliable internet access to participate.
Announcing the initiative on his social media accounts, Atiku said he developed the platform because he believes leadership should involve continuous dialogue between leaders and the people.
He explained that the portal would allow Nigerians to question his economic record, examine his policy proposals on technology, security and employment, and offer recommendations on national development.
The former vice president said the initiative was intended to promote transparency, accountability and open discussion, adding that citizens would be able to express their concerns and criticise his proposals.
Atiku also disclosed plans to personally contact selected participants who provide their telephone numbers through the platform.
According to him, the calls would enable him to hear directly from Nigerians about their personal experiences and the challenges affecting their daily lives.
He maintained that citizen engagement and accountability should be central to governance, arguing that a transparent, technology driven government should demonstrate its commitment to listening to the public.
The launch comes as political parties and aspirants prepare for the 2027 general elections, with the ADC presidential campaign seeking to use digital platforms to engage Nigerians and communicate its policy agenda.
