There was a large turnout of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday at Ward 9 in Akure, Ondo State, during the party’s House of Representatives primary election for the Akure South and North Federal Constituency.
Party supporters and delegates reportedly arrived at the venue as early as 8:00 a.m., reflecting strong participation and enthusiasm for the electoral exercise.
The primary election was monitored by a team from the APC national headquarters to ensure compliance with party guidelines and transparency throughout the process.
Some party chieftains who spoke during the exercise described the primary as peaceful, orderly and well-organised.
They commended party officials and members for maintaining calm and discipline during the voting process.
The APC is currently conducting primaries across several states ahead of the 2027 general elections to select candidates for various elective positions.
