The Asagba of Asaba, , has praised businessman , popularly known as Obi Cubana, for expanding private sector investments in the Delta State capital, noting that the projects are helping to reposition the city for economic growth.
The monarch gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by Obi Cubana and his team to the Asagba Palace in , describing the engagement as a reflection of shared commitment to the development of the city.
Azinge noted that the entrepreneur’s investments in real estate, hospitality and lifestyle infrastructure are boosting Asaba’s profile as an emerging investment destination. He added that such initiatives demonstrate growing confidence in the city’s future and are capable of attracting more investors.
“What we are seeing is a deliberate effort to raise the bar of investment in Asaba. These are not just projects; they are statements of confidence in our city and its future,” the monarch said.
He further explained that high-value investments contribute significantly to job creation and economic expansion across key sectors, including construction, commerce, hospitality and services.
The traditional ruler also assured investors of a conducive environment, emphasising that traditional institutions remain committed to supporting business growth and fostering partnerships that drive sustainable development.
Azinge highlighted ongoing infrastructure and development plans in the city, including the proposed waterfront project known as “Legacy of the Sun,” as well as other initiatives aimed at strengthening Asaba’s economic base.
He pointed out that the city’s proximity to and its strategic position within the eastern economic corridor place it at an advantage for long-term growth.
In his response, Obi Cubana expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to continued investment in Asaba through projects such as Cubana Millennium City and the planned Cubana Wonderland.
He said the initiatives are designed to create opportunities and deliver lasting value for residents and investors.
“Our vision is to build more than businesses; we are building a legacy,” he said.
The visit underscored growing collaboration between traditional leadership and private sector players in advancing the development of Asaba.
