A public affairs analyst, Saheed Ajadi, has dismissed the prospect of a political coalition between former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing it as a waste of time.
Ajadi made the remarks while speaking on TVC News’ Saturday Breakfast programme, where he questioned the viability of any alliance involving the two opposition figures.
He argued that Atiku Abubakar’s record in public office weakens his chances in any future political arrangement, claiming that his previous years in power did not yield meaningful results.
Ajadi also criticised Peter Obi’s performance as a former governor of Anambra State, suggesting that his achievements in office do not align with his current political claims.
According to him, a review of Obi’s tenure would raise questions about his track record, particularly when compared to ongoing developments in the state.
Despite his criticism of opposition figures, Ajadi emphasised the need for national stability, urging Nigerians to support the current administration.
He maintained that backing the government would allow its policies to take full effect, adding that citizens would be better positioned to assess its performance over time.
Ajadi concluded that political decisions should be guided by outcomes and long-term national interest rather than alliances driven by ambition.
