The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that more than 2.68 million Nigerians have successfully completed their voter registration in the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
INEC revealed the updated figures on Tuesday in a post shared on its official X handle, highlighting both online and physical registrations recorded since the exercise began.
According to the Commission, 1,576,137 applicants completed their pre-registration online, while an additional 1,109,588 finalised their enrolment through physical biometric capture at INEC centres across the country.
Osun State maintained its lead in the exercise with 208,357 new registrants, followed by Kano with 159,669 and Sokoto with 152,650.
Other states with high turnout include Imo (145,561), Borno (123,835), Lagos (123,484), and Jigawa (116,246).
The Federal Capital Territory also posted strong numbers, completing 106,855 registrations, while Kogi (103,750) and Zamfara (101,511) crossed the 100,000 mark.
Katsina recorded 98,968 registrations, with Delta, Kaduna, Ogun, Kebbi, Niger, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers also recording notable participation.
At the lower end of the spectrum, states such as Enugu (19,275), Ondo (17,542), Cross River (16,822), and Abia (16,691) reported comparatively modest figures.
INEC urged all eligible Nigerians who are yet to register to use the remaining window of opportunity, reminding the public that the first quarter of the CVR exercise will conclude on December 10, 2025.
The Commission emphasised that timely registration remains crucial for full participation in upcoming elections.
