Ibadan, September 23, 2025 — Former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, has congratulated Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan-designate, on the occasion of his 81st birthday and ahead of his official installation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a personally signed statement issued on Tuesday, Ibori hailed Ladoja’s life journey as one marked by divine favour, resilience, and service to humanity.
“On behalf of my family, I celebrate His Excellency, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his 81st birthday and his ascension as the 44th Olubadan. Ladoja’s story is that of a man favoured by God, a principled statesman and a dogged fighter for justice, equity, and fairness,” Ibori said.
He described the former Oyo State Governor as a leader of truth and justice, noting that his forthcoming coronation represents not just a traditional milestone, but a reaffirmation of his commitment to integrity in both political and cultural leadership.
Ibori also prayed for Ladoja’s reign to bring peace, progress, and development to Ibadanland, the South-West, and Nigeria at large.
The coronation of Ladoja as Olubadan is scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State. The week-long activities leading to the historic event commenced on Monday with an interdenominational prayer service in the state capital.
