Osogbo | September 6, 2025 – Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has fulfilled his pledge to a puff-puff vendor, Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo, by appointing her as a chef in the Government House and granting her a scholarship up to Master’s level.
The gesture comes days after Adeleke, during a labour rally in Osogbo on August 29, stunned onlookers by purchasing Adejumo’s entire tray of snacks for ₦50,000 and promising her employment.
Confirming the appointment in a statement on Friday via his official X handle, the governor described the move as a promise kept.

“Today, I have kept that promise by officially presenting her appointment letter as one of our Government House chefs. Beyond this, I have also approved a scholarship for her up to the Master’s level, should she wish to further her education,” Adeleke said.
Adejumo, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and formal catering training, went viral after the video of her encounter with the governor surfaced online.
In a related development, Adeleke also commissioned the long-abandoned Osun Farmers’ House in Osogbo—a project initiated by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola but left incomplete by successive administrations.

The governor said the revival of the facility reflected his administration’s determination to uplift the farming sector and boost the state’s economy.
“This milestone shows how serious we are about meeting the needs of our farmers while driving transformation in every sector of our state. I sincerely appreciate the support from Osun’s farmers and reaffirm my pledge to revitalise agriculture as part of our larger mission to secure food for our people,” he said.
The two announcements highlight Adeleke’s dual focus on human empowerment and sustainable development—providing immediate opportunities for individuals like Adejumo while pursuing long-term strategies to strengthen Osun’s agricultural and economic base.
