The Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Bilehou Oshoffa, has dismissed reports that he signed a will or document designating his successor.
In a statement released on Sunday via the church’s official website and obtained on Tuesday, Oshoffa — son of the church’s founder, Samuel Bilewu Oshoffa — declared that no such succession arrangement exists.
“During my magisterium, I did not sign any document or even make any statement designating the one who will succeed me,” he clarified.
Oshoffa stressed that leadership in the Celestial Church is rooted in divine authority rather than hereditary or political manipulation.
“The Church cannot be managed as a hereditary or clan succession. Thus, any document, declaration, or ambition claiming to be a testament of succession is null, of no effect, and of no consequence before God and the Celestial Church of Christ,” he said.
The cleric described the rumours as “manipulative and dishonourable,” warning that such attempts were punishable before God. Citing 1 Samuel 2:23–25, he said misleading members amounted to leading them into sin.
Reaffirming the church’s foundation in divine order, Oshoffa reminded members that the CCC remains under the supreme authority of Christ.
“The Celestial Church of Christ is a Church of revelation and obedience to the divine will. No country, no family, no man, has the supreme authority. This Church is placed under the high authority of our Lord Jesus Christ,” he stated.
He urged members to shun division, uphold unity, and resist schisms based on personal ambition.
“We urge all faithfuls to remain firm in faith, to remain attached to the Divine Order, and to turn away from any attempt at schism, illusion, or quest for power, based on carnal arguments or any plagiarism,” he said.
The spiritual head concluded with prayers for peace, truth, and unity within the church and the wider world.
