The Big Brother Naija reality show on Monday paid tribute to three of its former housemates who have passed away — Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada, and Rico Swavey.
During a solemn moment in the ongoing season, the current housemates gathered as images of the late stars were displayed on the screen, followed by a minute of silence in their honour.
Francisca Owumi, runner-up of the 2006 debut season, was remembered for her vibrant, free-spirited personality and passion for dance. She passed away in 2024 after battling an illness.
Joseph “Joe” Ada, also a 2006 housemate, died in May 2023 after a period of ill health. He was celebrated for his warm presence and contributions to the early days of the show.
Rico Swavey, whose real name was Patrick Fakoya, featured in the 2018 Double Wahala season. He was known for his creativity and calm personality before his untimely death in a car accident in 2022.
The tribute served as a reminder of the enduring bond between the Big Brother Naija platform and its alumni, many of whom have continued to inspire fans across the country.
