Lagos | July 19, 2025 — Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, commissioned a series of landmark infrastructure projects across Agboyi-Ketu and Bariga Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
In Agboyi-Ketu, the Governor unveiled the Otunba Bushura Alebiosu Multipurpose Building, a new primary school, a state-of-the-art ICT hub, the Oba Taiwo Adesegun Lamina Sports Centre, and four newly constructed roads. These projects, facilitated by Hon. Dele Osinowo, aim to boost education, youth development, and connectivity within the community.
Over in Bariga, under the leadership of Hon. Kolade Alabi, the Governor commissioned 21 roads, three newly built primary schools, five primary healthcare centres, a fire station, and a new legislative chamber — all designed to enhance public service delivery and improve quality of life for residents.
“These projects are not just buildings and roads — they are investments in people, in futures, and in the growth of our communities,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said.
He praised both council leaders for fulfilling their mandates and reaffirmed the state government’s support for all 57 local councils, noting that true development thrives when councils are empowered to serve with autonomy and accountability.
“To the good people of Agboyi-Ketu, Bariga, and the wider Lagos community — these facilities are yours,” he stated. “Let us protect and maintain them, so they remain functional for generations to come.”
The governor reiterated his administration’s vision to build “a Lagos that works for all,” anchored on collaboration, responsible leadership, and sustainable development.
